For over a century, DeltaSigs have been committed to promoting and inspiring young professionals to excel in the business world. The Fraternity has become the foremost business fraternity for both men and women. We intend not only to focus on our impact in the business world but also in the communities around us. The programs provided by the national Fraternity such as the Leadership Foundation and LEAD program provide financial assistance, leadership development, and personal and professional growth.

Since its founding in 1907, Delta Sigma Pi strives to be America’s renowned professional business fraternity. With a focus on professional development, philanthropy, and brotherhood, each member can be assured that his or her time in the fraternity will be an enriching and worthwhile experience. In addition, a great strength of our Fraternity is a membership as diverse as the business world. Through our different opinions and voices, our Fraternity pushes the conventional ways of thinking that lead us to great ideas in the chapter and in the business world.

On November 7, 1907, Delta Sigma Pi was founded by Harold Valentine Jacobs, Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello, and Henry Albert Tienken at New York University School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance.
At this time, schools of business were relatively new. There were only a few schools such as these in the nation in 1907. New York University was one of the universities that had such school known as the School of Commerce, Accounts, and Finance.
In 1906, Alpha Kappa Psi was the dominant business fraternity in New York University. However, these four men felt that they had been ignored by the fraternity because of their race and religion. They decided to create a new business organization that was open to all people.

On April 2, 1908, the name Delta Sigma Pi was adopted by the membership and the bylaws were also approved at this meeting. Soon after, a motion was made to adopt the colors purple and gold as the official colors of Delta Sigma Pi.
"Since the Centennial in 2007, Delta Sigma Pi has continued to expand and refine its operations, determined to equip members for future professional and personal success and proud of its reputation as the world’s foremost fraternity for business majors. Recent milestones include initiating our 300,000th member, installing our 250th chapter, surpassing 200 active collegiate chapters, launching the Hub and an active online presence including our website and social media."
